June
The month began with our guild quilt show. My quilts hung nicely so that made me happy since I hadn’t hung either of them to check. No ribbon for the applique quilt but some nice comments from the judge. It always makes me inordinately happy to get positive comments on my bindings.

Bee was more of the never ending Hawaiian quilt applique.

I missed Moda club what with my son coming home from college and a dental appointment. They’re going to think I’m a slacker. I did, however, work on my quilt top at home. I have all the sampler blocks from last year put together and just have the bottom row of sashing and nine patches to add before the final border.

Guild was awesome! Zena Thorpe came to speak and her quilts are simply jaw dropping. I came home with two patterns and also signed up for her workshop at PIQF in October.

The month ended with the shop hop. Fourteen stops over two days. A full tank of gas :-) We seemed to stop at as many food places as quilt shops but we had fun. Each quilt shop gave out a charm so by the end we had very cute charm bracelets as a keepsake. I have to say I loved this a zillion times more than the old free block patterns or steps to a mystery quilt. I have years of those filed and am sure I will never actually make any of them. I collected all the fat quarters I need for my bee birthday fat quarter gifts. I also had fun collecting polka dots for a “someday” quilt for which I have the pattern. It will take me a long time to get around to this project but I need quite a few more polka dots (I think I need 18) so I have something to collect for a while.
