Energy Calculator
The Estimated Ranges are very rough numbers. They assume that you are firing the rifle strait ahead from a height of 1 meter. The numbers given are by NO means accurate range. Wind, BB weight, hop up, and many other factors would influence accuracy. The numbers given tell you approximately how long it will take the BB to hit the ground (which is also influenced by hop up and wind, but NOT weight). They aren't much use, but they do give you a basic idea of your replica's maximum range and I don't feel like having to hack any more of Arnie's code, or having to do advanced math.
I may eventually figure out the math, or just steal it from Arnie when he posts it, but I don't know what the point really is, since you could just shoot your gun in the backyard and figure it out.
Thank you Arnie's Arisoft for the base code for this more in depth calculator.
Here is an intersting (and) long article that compares .20g and .25g BBs. Essentially, the .25s are almost always a better choice.
